Dying to Live

God creates life in the midst of grief. God creates love in the midst of loss. God creates faith in the midst of despair. Resurrecting us from death regardless of its form and its size. God showed it to Ezekiel as he stood in the valley of the dry bones. Jesus showed us by taking the road to Easter right through Good Friday.

So, what about you? Do you have any bone-filled graves in your life? Any failures, disappointments, regrets, griefs or fears that continue to bury you? Secrets or anxieties that continue to haunt you?

Can these bones live? I know the one who answered the question once and for all. And for centuries He's been in the business of bringing dead bones to life and taking the bits and pieces of our lives - like scattered Legos - and making something beautiful out of them.

On the Nature of Gratitude

Gratitude is underrated in our culture. Many are conditioned to appreciate and strive for accomplishments achieved by their own hand. Yet, gratitude allows us to see the truth about our ultimate dependence on God and each other and is, therefore, one way of keeping everything in our lives in proper perspective.

Staying Plugged In

One of the first things to happen when Christians neglect their prayer life is that they lose their sense of vital connection to Christ. In order for prayer to be powerful and effective it must be a habit of the heart. It is the habit of that cultivates the living passion we have for God.
