The Good Samaritan- Be A Good Neighbor

The lesson today is from the story of the " Good Samaritan " and how we should love our neighbors. A neighbor could be anyone we come upon in everyday life. How we interact with our " neighbors " is a part of our testimony. Are we quick to judge or quick to offer assistance. We as people are helpless without God. God grace helps Christians get through life, sure Christians go through different struggles. God helps us through our struggles if we trust in Him. Christians should help people when they are down. If you see some one down and out do you help or just pass right by. What statement does that make when people know you are a Christian. If they do not know your spiritual life then what separates you from everyone else? Where would we be if God passed by us? God was there for you, where is your compassion? Will you make a difference? It starts with YOU...

Facing The Giants- Let's Go Take It

The Pastor's message today is about Moses sending spies into a land filled with large men ( giants) and a city with walls around it. God commanded that they were to go take the city. They were caught up in the size of the men and walls around the city rather than believing God would deliver the city to them. They, in short were looking at it though their eyes rather than God eyes. We often limit the power of God though our eyes and understanding. The truth is God's power is limitless if we only get out of the way and believe God will do what he says he will do.

James- All Out For Christ

James was a sucessful business man as a fisherman. James was a very profitable fisherman When Jesus called James he left his fishing business to serve the Lord. We should follow James' example and stay busy for the Lord.and served the Lord with zeal. James followed the Lord Immediately when he was called. Serving the Lord does not require excellence, just a willingness to serve. James surrendered all to Jesus. Surrendering all is very hard for us to do we need to give up control to the Lord. James was willing to suffer for the Lord. We, as a whole do not know anything about suffering but we need to be willing to suffer for the Lord. James made everything count in his life, can we make it count for the Lord everyday? God can use anyone if we are willing to serve him. Are you willing to serve?

The Light In Darkness

In a world that is full of darkness and getter darker by the day. We have a light to guide our path and that light is the Word of God. We need to use that light to guide our daily lives in our homes, raising our children. We cannot survive on our strength, God is all the strength we need to get through anything we will endure. Moses could not have faced pharaoh alone, he needed God. God gave him the strength and wisdom to handle anything pharaoh threw at him. When things get hard and seem to get harder by the moment. God is there, we just need to turn to him and surrender our problems to him. God will get us through, He is in control. If you know God as your personal Lord and Savior, God will never leave you. We just need to have faith in God and he will remove our fear. In times of trouble we need to look to the Word of God, read the Bible and pray. In times of temptation turn to the Word of God, God will light your path. God is the light on a dark and scary path. Just turn to God and His Word, He will never put us in a situation we can't handle IF we let Him light our way.....

Don't Get Snake Bit In 10

Don't get snake bit in 10- The sermon today is about different set backs in our Christian life. The first snake bite is discouragement, we as Christians should not get caught up in feeling sorry for ourselves. We must follow Paul's example and shake off the viper. The next viper to avoid is criticism. We must be kind when we are treated unjustly. It is Christlike to return good for evil, very important for Christians to follow this example. People watch our reactions to adverse situations. The next viper to avoid - low expectations, some people have low expectation for Christians. They use this to justify their lives, it matters how we react and how people see our actions. We must be strong and remember to trust God in everything we do.

Andrew ,The Ordinary Disciple:

This is the first in a series titled : Andrew , The Ordinary Disciple. Andrew was a behind the scene disciple. Andrew was not a "name in lights" like Simon Peter but was very impactful. First, feeling the need to spread the word beginning with his family ,introducing his brother to Lord. Andrew, then leads a little boy to the Lord. The little boy gave all he had to the Lord which was one of the greatest stories in The Bible, " loaves and fishes". Who they were or what they were did not matter to Andrew, he knew that they needed Jesus. God used Andrew " an ordinary disciple" to bring people to Him. Andrew ordinary to men but not to God...

Before You End 2009........

Before you end 2009....The end of the year is a time of reflection in life and your spiritual life. Pastor shares a couple things we should examine. The first item: is your cup clean on the inside, the only way to truly get a fresh start to the new year is to have your " cup" clean on the inside. The second item: is you must reconciled with your brother. Your relationship with others ( family, friends, and anyone we interact with ) affects your relationship with God. The third item: God must be first place in your life. If you have God in first place in your life good things happen. It is the only way to be truly successful in the new year. The fourth item: we must show piety at home. We must have a love and desire to serve God at home. It is the only way to build a solid foundation for our children and home... You have to examine your past year before you can have a successful new year..

Remember the Day, Not the Date

Some 2,000 years ago, this world witnessed Christ's birth. Our finite minds tend to focus on the date of December rather than what happened on that day many years ago. We need to stop and think about the true meaning of the season. Christmas is the day that our Savior was born. It was the day that the Voice that spoke this world into existence, whimpered to His mother. In the first place, the boundless became helpless. He became helpless as a babe in a manger. The boundless, limitless, infinite power of God became defenseless as the newborn in the manger. He did so to identify himself with the helpless human race. Second, the Great I Am became here and now. The day Christ was born, the great vastness of the universe became moment by moment. Why? So that he could relate to us. Third, the day is of importance. God made His Son from potter to the clay. The potter went from the behind the wheel and climbed into the clay. All for us. Can you imagine? Could you face 2010 without a Savior? But on the day that Christ was born, Hope was born. God gave His only begotten Son because of His love for us. How much did He love us? He sent His Son so that we may have forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
