When Saints Disagree 2

We will disagree, that is just realistic. And the purpose for which God has called us as saints governs our disagreements. You have the right to win, but God has the right to define a 'win'.

When Saints Disagree

Paul turns to a new question asked by the believers in Corinth. It is a question about a gray area. That is, it is not morally wrong but socially questionable. What are we to do when saints disagree about these things?

When saints disgree... build each other up with love.

When Saints Are Single

When saints stay single the same basic principle applies. Both married and singles have the same purpose and are all saints by the work of Jesus, not by their status as married or single.

When Saints Get Divorced

Marriage is one way that God has given for saints to give to each other a sense of belonging to Him and to one another in the church. But, what if my marriage is not like the self-giving description of 1 Corinthians 7:1-7? What if my needs are not being met?

Long before you ask the divorce question, there is a personal one. Who are you? Are you a saint by calling? How would a saint approach a marriage that is not ideal? (hint: that is the only kind there is).

When Saints Get Unmarried

When saints get unmarried for legitimate or illegitimate reasons, does that change their status in the church? How do saints get unmarried and if they are unmarried, where do they find the sense of belonging that we were created to find in marriage?

Trustworthy Pictures

Today we welcome our friends from Boy Scout Troop 123 as they take part in Scout Sunday, remembering that being trustworthy and reverent are essential characteristics for growing up to be leaders in our community.

We also celebrate the installation of our elders, our leaders, who lead us by offering their lives as a rough sketch of what trustworthiness looks like when it begins with reverence.

When Saints Get Married

We learned last week that the body, created for God's glory and redeemd by Jesus ought not be taken to a prostitute. Any sex acts outside ofmarriage are embodied ubelief. BUT, God has created a human relationship in which man and woman are once again naked and unashamed, belonging to God and to one another. That is what happens when saints get married.

When Saints Have Sex

Yea, I'm nervous about this one too. But we said that this identity as saints lives in EVERY area of our lives. What we do flow naturally out of who we are. Therefore ALL preaches. Now, how does sex impact my identity and how does the way I use my body sexually preach the Gospel?

When Saints Fight

We are saints by calling, together on the way to heaven. We are saints by grace, according to what Jesus has done, not by anything we have done – either good or bad. Given enough time together, we will fight. But saints will fight differently.

When Saints Fail

We are saints by calling, together on the way to heaven. We are saints by grace, according to what Jesus has done, not by anything we have done – either good or bad. Sometimes saints succeed and sometimes they fail, even fail badly.

Failure will come...even for saints. How do we handle it as saints together on the way to heaven? When something goes seriously wrong, we handle it face to face and based on the Gospel life on the way to heaven.
