Sam spoke this week with Rogers Kirven, a former business partner whose wife is dying of cancer (barring a miraculous physical healing). They have five children and have been married 35 years. Three years ago Christy was diagnosed with three specific types of cancer. In addition to fervent prayer, Rogers has spent a fortune seeking the best treatment available from places like M.D. Anderson Cancer Center out of Houston, TX and Shands, the University of Florida Cancer Hospital. During Christmas, the medical community sent Christy home to die. Rogers and Christy are learning what true love is. I can promise you that it is radically different than what is typically presented in Hollywood and the cultural norms we see all around us.
