Shining the Light

If God dwells in unapproachable light, and Jesus’ light is like the lightning and the sun in all it’s brilliance, and that light is in us, then how bright is our light? How bright are we shining? Does the world see our light? Pastor Michael teaches that we as God's children ARE the light and we ARE to shine with the light of the gospel radiating from our faces, witnessing and testifying about the Light and calling for those living in darkness to come and be transformed by the Light.

Witness to the Light

Pastor Michael teaches about being a witness to the light. Darkness hates the light, it hates Christ, it hates the Christian and it hates the truth. Why? Because we testify against it, we are witnesses to the light, witnesses to the truth. Fear not, the greater the darkness, the brighter the light will shine.

Christmas Brings Joy

How is true joy possible? Joy is possible only when one has experienced God’s love, peace and hope. Joy is impossible if there is no relationship with Christ. Christ coming that first Christmas to be born and dwell among man made it possible for all to experience joy. Therefore, joy is not a feeling, but rather a deep resolve in the heart and comes from a relationship of knowing how much God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus to the cross.

Christmas Brings Love

What is the very heart of Christmas, what answers do you think people would give? Probably, many would say presents, decorations, lights, shopping, parades, entertainment and shows. Others might say giving gifts, doing good, being charitable and showing generosity, but to those who understand the reason for the season would say the very heart of Christmas is found in (v.21), “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” That is Christmas! Nothing more, nothing less!

Christmas Brings Peace

Mankind has always cried out for peacel. All of man’s life on earth has been nothing but failed attempts at peace. The Moody Bible Institute reported since the beginning of recorded history, the entire world has been at peace less than eight percent of the time! Out of 3530 years of recorded history, there were only 286 years of peace. During that period, there have been 14,531 wars, large and small, in which 3.6 billion people have been killed. Why can’t man ever achieve peace? Because there will never be peace, true peace, until the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ comes again. Only in Christ will wars cease, only in Christ will nations live in harmony, and only in Christ will the lost, rebellious heart of mankind ever find peace with God.

Christmas Brings Hope

Pastor Michael looks at the life of Simeon and Anna and brings out a beautiful picture of hope. Will Christmas be one of hope or hopelessness to you this year?
Horizontal Forgiveness

Has someone wrong or cheated you? Has someone betrayed you, broke confidence? Has someone hurt you emotionally, physically, financially? Are you holding a grudge against someone this morning and not extending grace to them? Has your heart become calloused, bitter and cold toward them? When it comes to forgiving our fellow brother, are we more like the master (Jesus) or more like the unmerciful servant?
