Daily Devotions with God

The cornerstone of all spiritual disciplines is our daily time (aka “devotions”) with God. Our temptation as people is to get so busy and distracted with the daily worries and cares of this life that we push this vital discipline to the side. Jesus refused to do this however, because He understood, as we do, that as earthly, finite beings we cannot continue to give out spiritually, emotionally and physically without refilling our tanks through daily time alone with God.

Observing the Sabbath

Observing the Sabbath, both as a principle and as a command, is not meant to be a burden but a blessing. God created all things, especially people, to need times of rest and refreshing. To ignore this truth is to suffer the consequences, both physically and spiritually. We honor God when we choose to rest from our labors by faith, and we benefit greatly when we do.

Home is Where the Heart is

God’s home is in our hearts. He first moves in when we invite Him, but we make it a welcoming, comfortable, loving Home as we store our treasures in heavenly accounts, allow His priorities to become our priorities, and develop the qualities of Christ. Even David was grossly imperfect, yet God found a home in his heart.
