Genesis 30:25-43

In the midst of human deception and sinfulness, God still is working out His plan. Jacob was blessed, not because of the means he used, but in spite of them. Success is not necessarily a mark of God's favor. The ends do not justify the means. There is an ultimate judgment; God will provide vengeance for wrongs.

Genesis 29:31-30:24

God does not condone the idolatry of Leah and Rachel, but uses this to help fulfill the promise that the descendants of Abraham would be as numerous as the sand of the sea.

If we try to tear down the idols without seeing the whole picture of what Christ has done for us, it is like trying to tear down a brick wall with a box of toothpicks.

Israel was not the promised seed, but a shadow of the One who is the Ultimate Seed--Christ.
