The Spirit Comes To Liberate

The Spirit comes to liberate us from our past and to guide us in God's paths. Using the example of the apostle Paul, the Bible shows us how the Spirit can liberate us from our old life, and help us start anew.

Seeing Family Mess God's Way

While our actions and the actions of others often have harsh consequences, God has a plan for us which can turn those consequences to serve His purposes. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, but rose to become 2nd to only the pharaoh as a ruler of Egypt. In both Genesis 45 (1-11) and Genesis 50:15-20, Joseph talks of how God has turned his brothers' evil actions to His purposes.

Finding Freedom in Your Family Mess

Joseph is blessed by God in all he does while a slave in Potiphar's household, but meets with adversity, when he is falsely accused by Potiphar's wife. He is also forgotten while in prison, even by other prisoner's to whom he has shown kindness. Joseph is willing to forgive those who have wronged him, and continues to be blessed by God.

When God Raises A Child

As the favored child of Jacob (Israel), Joseph is the subject of his brothers' envy. This envy leads to their selling him into slavery, but even under these terrible circumstances, God has a plan for his life.
